• Asian American Chamber installs new leaders

    President Jose “Joed” Fabricante focuses on opportunities for small businesses

    ORLANDO – The Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida introduced new President Jose “Joed” Fabricante, Jr. and the 2018 slate of officers and board directors at its annual installation luncheon hosted by Universal Orlando Resort on January 9, 2018.
    “Asians and Pacific Islanders are the fastest-growing demographic in the nation, while Orlando continues to be one of the fastest-growing municipalities. There’s never been a more opportune time for our small business members to make their mark,” Fabricante said. “As we grow the Chamber in 2018, we are focused on delivering programs that support the success of our members.”
    Fabricante previously has served in multiple roles on the Chamber board of directors, including president-elect, vice president and events chair. Fabricante is a Universal Orlando team member, employed in the company’s security division.
    Bill Davis, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando Resort, welcomed the public officials and corporate and community leaders gathered for the ceremony at CityWalk’s Rising Star.  Davis highlighted the collaboration on diversity and business programming between the Asian American Chamber and Universal Orlando. Davis presided over the official oath ceremony of the new board of directors.  Serving on the 2018 Board of Directors are:

    • Gail Rayos –  Director / Past President
    Kathy Llamas, past president and senior adviser, and Greg Maaswinkel, chamber legal adviser, also were recognized.
