AACC Board of Directors & Sergeant at Arms
Family origins are from the Tai Po and Yuen Long districts of Kowloon/Hong Kong China, the language was Cantonese.
I am a former US Government employee, and current Law Enforcement professional from 1978 to the current date of 2023. I have 40 plus years in Law Enforcement, where my work experience included General Police duties, Court appearances, Vessel handling/Instructional, on craft to 30ft, including Airboats in the Marine/Dive sections, Vehicular, Economics Investigations, Aviation Flight Officer w/ 400+ hours, and Fugitive/Warrant. My last full time assignment was a School Resource Officer for 5 years and a certified Florida Firearms Instructor.
In 2022, when the inception of the OCSO Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Liaison Group came to fruition at the community’s request. I accepted a team leader role continuing to this day, with visions of building a stronger relationship between Law Enforcement and the AAPI community. Our success has always been predicated on the strong leadership ranks of the AAPI community that I serve, striving to recognize the growing AAPI community and safety needs. In Orlando/Orange County Florida the AAPI community number around 6% of the 1.4 million population, with the state of Florida at 2% of 21 million, and rising.
I have been affiliated and member of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce for 15 years and currently serving on the Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term. I have worked in conjunction with the Orange County Mayor’s Office’s Orange County Asian Committee, among various other AAPI organizations, to promote further expansion of business networking initiatives and resources, which better resonate with the community. I look forward to being a continued resource for the AAPI members in Orange County and Central Florida.
My academic studies/training range to Police Science, Criminology, basic Psychology, and Crisis Intervention. I previously was a small business owner for 10 years, which included a 100k product inventory, retaining subcontractors, as well as exporting products to countries outside of the U.S.
