Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a month-long celebration of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and their contributions to the United States. Our Chamber is pleased to celebrate this month at our annual super-networking event in the rotunda of Orlando City Hall, Thursday, May 9, 2013 5:30 to 8:00 PM. ASIAN AMERICAN CHAMBER MOVES TO NEW HEADQUARTERS

The National Entrepreneur Center (NEC) today welcomed the Asian American Chamber of Commerce as its newest “Resource Partner”. During a celebratory event to mark its 10th anniversary, the NEC lauded its many partners’ accomplishments over the last decade in launching new businesses, providing business services and guidance, and helping over 100,000 new and established entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Central Florida.

The Asian American Chamber will become the newest tenant at the NEC, located at the western concourse of the Orlando Fashion Square Mall. The Chamber expects to open its newest office by the end of July, 2013. Chamber President Coco Johnston stated, “We look forward to closer collaboration with the dozen and more other chambers, academic, government and business-promotion organizations at the NEC. This is truly a one-stop business center. I know our members and partners will reap tremendous benefits by our move into the NEC.”

Opening remarks and statements were delivered by Jerry Ross, Director of the NEC, as well as Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs, City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, UCF President John Hitt and other dignitaries. The NEC is located at 3201 E. Colonial Drive, Suite A-20, Orlando, FL 32803 at Orlando’s Fashion Square Mall. The AACC will announce a Reception and Open House at a later date. Description: The Asian American Heritage Council of Central Florida presents “Asian Cultural Festival 2013” on Saturday, May 18th, 3:00-9:00pm at East Orlando Avalon Park. Your participation in the Asian Cultural Festival will also benefit the annual Asian Student Achievers’ Scholastic Awards, to be held in November 2013. Deserving Asian American students will be recognized for their academic excellence and outstanding community service. (NOTE: This event is not organized or run by the Asian American Chamber.
